No uni classes today due to Special Projects week! Yay!
Instead, we were invited to Linsey Pollak’s workshop on live looping.
Along with my peers, we’ve learnt to live loop by making any sounds such as beat boxing, tongue clicking and making all random sounds on various rhythmic patterns. We’ve also learnt to multi track and create various loops to make an entirely new composition. The fact that there was no right or wrong with looping was fantastic!
Was it hard?
In my opinion, it was interesting. stimulating and exciting but not hard. However, I found recording myself (singing) and pressing the start/ stop buttons simultaneously wasn’t an easy task.
(The loop turned out to be in 7/4 instead of 4/4 due to my inaccuracy). Nevertheless, I’ve learnt so many new things that looping can do.
